Connection & community for those in retirement
New Story Classics, formerly known as Lamplighters, is an outreach ministry for the older adults of Phoenixville and its surrounding areas, as well as the church body, with the aim of providing connection, community, and a gospel outreach opportunity. This ministry provides a program and a hot catered luncheon from 11 AM - 1 PM on the 3rd Thursday of each month from September to May.

Bruce E. Mowday
Bruce is an award-winning author and newspaper reporter. He has authored more than 25 books on history, sports, business, & true crime. He will join us to share about Lafayette and the Battle of Brandywine.
New Story’s Young Adults Missions Team will also share about their upcoming trip to Guatemala.

Greg Navitsky
Greg is the Pastor of Teaching & Outreach at New Story. He joins us to share Ronald Rolheiser’s assertion that there are three phases in your spiritual journey: (1) getting your life together, (2) giving your life away, and (3) giving your death away. Rolheiser accompanies you through your final years and the mellowing of your soul, where bitterness gives way to forgiveness, optimism to virtuous hope, and control to surrender. You’ll see Jesus’ model of holy passivity and find in Him the courage to overcome the darkest nights of faith.

Elva will share a chalk talk. Elva’s chalk talks were born out of her love for the arts, and above all, a deep desire from within to share the same wonderful, good news of the Gospel that so radically changed her life and continues to bring purpose, excitement & adventure into her life!

Piercing Word
Experience highlights from the Gospel of Mark performed dramatically word-for-word from the Bible. This one-man performance will surprise and delight you with creative storytelling that will take you to the places Jesus went and introduce you to the many people Jesus called to follow Him. Be inspired, challenged, and moved by the power of the Word of God as you watch the revealing of the Son of God live on stage.

Linda Hytha
In 1984 Phoenixville’s steel mill was closing down and storefronts were boarded up. That’s when Linda and her husband, Greg, moved there and began an unplanned journey participating in the revitalization of the town. Linda is currently writing a memoir about expectations gone sideways and making peace with plans not turning out as we hope. Her story is about a marriage trying to find balance and a community struggling to survive - in a town that refused to die.

Debi Wahl
Debi is a historical performer portraying the life of blind hymnist Fanny J. Crosby. Come and hear her story in a dramatic presentation that incorporates Debi’s singing & acting.
